Dennis Schnieber

This set is by Dennis Schnieber. Check out his Flickr here.

Most of these photos were taken with Dennis' Praktica MTL5B and expired films that he got from ebay. Another camera he says he uses a lot is his Olympus MJU II.

Dennis says...
"There is nothing really special about my photography I think, I just love to have a tool with me, that is capable of capturing moments of joy, beauty, anarchy..whatever appears magic to me. It's also a lovely way to strengthen one's sense for those special moments and to enjoy them. Since you can not check the result right after you took a shot, analog photography is perfect for that, it feels original."

Dennis also uses a DSLR from time to time as well. On photos 1 and 5 in this set he was messing around with a glass plate and handheld lens.

Dennis also says that he's more a filmmaker then a photographer. He recently uploaded his 2012 short film 'Notion' (https://vimeo.com/67039825) and at the moment he is trying to get funding for his next short film.

Jamie Gamboa

This set is by Jamie Gamboa (Foxes and Hounds on Flickr)

Jamie says she doesn't really have a particular technique, she just enjoys taking pictures of subjects she finds to be photogenic and interesting. She has a collection of film cameras but only some are in use like her Kodak Pony 135 (which took the 2nd photo in this set) that she inherited from her grandmother, a Diana F+, and the occasional disposable camera (which took the 3rd photo).

Jamie says that since purchasing her first DSLR (a Nikon D3100) as a present for graduating middle school, she has been prioritising taking digital photographs and portraits. She uses the magic of photoshop to edit them to have the nostalgic, sentimental vibe that film photos provide.
There is also a very delicate quality to Jamie's photographs, which we love.

Lucy Cheung

This set is by Lucy Cheung. Check out her Flickr here.

Lucy uses a Nikon FM2 most of the time,
however she is also a fan of Voigtlander, and she tries different Voigtlander cameras all the time. Lucy says she

loves tudor films and ferrania films.
She shoots mostly in colour, but she also likes black and white very much, especially Bergger films and Arista films.

We love Lucy's photographs - they have such a beautiful, almost haunting quality to them.

Laura Gordon

This set is by Laura Gordon (laurasaurasrexx on Flickr)

These photos were all part of Laura's first double exposure experiment on a wide-angle 35mm film camera, and she says the good ones are pure luck. Just the sort of photography we love - experimental with great results!

Hanne Dale

This set is by Hanne Dale (fjert on Flickr)

The first three are of bridges in Iida-shi in Nagano prefecture, Japan, taken with a matchbox pinhole camera and a roll of Fuji Pro 160C. Hanne says she's been enjoying playing around with simple pinholes a lot this past year – that and long exposures.

The next one is a solargraph exposed for 4 1/2 months in a black plastic canister for 35 mm film, on Ilford Multigrade IV paper.

The final one was taken with Hanne's half-frame Olympus PEN EE.S, which she finds fun to use from time to time.

Hanne also has some really beautiful photos she has taken with experimental disposable cameras, which you can see here and here on her Flickr.
